It really rewards you for having an amazing build - which I currently do and clearing the temple actually gives you rewards so it's nice. And there are other things.Īnyway, the Incursion league is actually pretty cool. The crafting system is exactly what Beastiary and prophecy league have been TRYING to do. Really elegant, and it allows for the game designers to make a more aestetically pleasing environment.

You can randomly open 1 major and 1 minor path on the same map and therefore cause the player to have to experience the map differently on each playthrough. So if you have one map of Lunaris with 3 major paths and 3 minor paths. GD's solution was more elegant in that they use a static world map, but they simply randomly change the possible pathway through said map.

PoE with it's history of strongboxes blocking important staircases, or triple doors inside of Solaris and Lunaris that lead to literally nowhere. Grim Dawn has a static world map - meaning that it isn't randomly generated like in PoE. Grim Dawn isn't perfect, but I've found several things that GD does better than PoE or at least more elegantly. Is it because all the monsters were nerfed while I was away or were all the skills buffed? I think it's also because playing Grim Dawn helped to bolster my ARPG analytical mind. My current character that I just made for this event is the most powerful character I've ever made. The end result being that you spend all your time making gameplay and build relevant actions as opposed to worrying about inventory space or RNG when it comes to sockets and links. Also, inventory space is about 10-15x? bigger in GD than in PoE and all the items drop pre-identified so you can always compare all the loot on the floor with what you currently have equipped. In GD you can just portal to whatever hub point you want to. I feel like it has something to do with playing Grim Dawn, which sheds away a lot of the inconviences of PoE such as having to portal back to base with personal portals. After all this time away, I come back and PoE seems a whole lot easier than I remember. I took months away from PoE and then recently played Grim Dawn for the past month.
